Hi Lyn,
We are back to France and ready to go back to work (on monday) ... !
I looked in the Routard 2010-2011 version, and unfortunately, the restaurant you talked about is not mentionned inside.
Anyway, you were the best B&B we did in Scotland ;o)
Best regards

Dear Lyn,
after such an intense and emotional week around Scotland we are now back in town.
Our trip around the country has been amazing and we experienced something unique that we will bring in our hearts forever.
The landscapes, the people, the atmosphere, the relation between man and nature, all this was so fascinating.
But there is a place we definetely fell in love with, and this place is Eabost.
Thank you for such a friendly, true, and warm welcome in your house.
This is something we will keep inside us until the next trip to Eabost!
We really look forward to meet you again, even here in Venice, at anytime.
Kind regards,
Davide and Maria

Hi Lyn and Brian.
Just a quick note to say thank you for the tips you gave us. the route you suggested was far better than the one we wanted to go inatially, and of course we stopped at house of bruar, which really has the best self service restaurant i have ever seen, just as you said, lyn! the shops were fab, too. we really enjoyed the food section and stocked up on some "essentials". Thanks again for everything.
Regards,
Flo & Jan

Dear Lyn and Brian,
Greetings from sunny Sri Lanka! Hope this message finds you both well.
We had a great time at Eabost cottage when we visited isle of Skye with our friends -- Dilini Fonseka and Chirantha, this July.
Thanks very much indeed for the wonderful hospitality you both extended to us. Although our stay with you was brief, it was truly memorable and we shall definitely re-visit if we are ever in Scotland again.
As promised, here are a few photos I took whilst at Eabost cottage. There are two of the little bunny rabbits that visited your back garden and one of your lovely front garden and the awesome view.

The two days we spend in your house were really nice, because of the amazing view on the bay, the clouds always changing, the incredible green of the grass and the dark grey of the sea... and most important of all, the really warm welcome you give to us ! I will never forget your breakfast, with porridge that "sticks to th ribs..." !
I hope we will see you again, in a futur trip,
Best regards,
Martine ROQUES, Toulouse

Lyn/Brian:
I just wanted to say what a delightful time I had
staying at your very special place; it was far and
away the best of the 4 B&Bs I was lucky enough to
visit - the best breakfast by far! I wasn't able to
find suitable accommodation in Fort William so I drove
on to the Trossachs to meet my friend; we had a great
time.
I hope we meet again some day.

Dear Lyn, We just wanted to thank you for your hospitality and your kindness during our recent stay with you.We continued our journey as planned and though the wind persisted it was managable most of the time. The ride from Mallaig to Ardnamurchan was lovely but tiring. We ended up with two lazy days on Mull in beautiful weather. Best wishes Hope to see you next year. Beryl and Jonathan Bronner

Sorry it has taken until now to write this but we wanted to express our gratitude for your care of us on our most recent visit to Skye. Your warm welcome on our arrival, the comfort of your home and your willingness to cater for our requests made our stay with you special. We’d love to see you again - if John is allowed back!!!
27-Jun-2005 - Colette & Robin
Hello Lyn & Brian.
First of all, many thanks for introducing us so well to Skye. We certainly made the most of our time there, thanks to your expert guidance. We must tell you that just as we drove out of Struan we saw a golden eagle circling over us. So, naturally, we had to stop and observe it for a few minutes-breathtaking and we were so pleased. We knew our friends would forgive us if we were late! In the end we got to the arranged meeting place with a minute to spare.
We are now back at work but I must admit that Clacton and Colchester don't hold the same fascination as Skye! So we will just have to come back some time in the future to get our fix of exceptional wildlife, not to mention the lovely meals and enjoyable company that we experienced at Eabost. So please keep the B&B going until we return.
Best wishes to you both Robin & Colette.

Lyn & Brian. We wanted to drop you an e-mail to let you know that we got back to Pennsylvania safe and sound and to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay with you. Thank you for your hospitality; we couldn't have imagined a better place to stay.

Lyn, our thanks to you and Brian for your kind hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at your lovely spot on Skye. What fabulous views and such peace and quiet, apart from us and when Tom and his colleagues fly over! We were very comfortable and the breakfasts were excellent. Thank you.We had an uneventful journey back apart from some squalling snow showers between Inverness and Elgin. We had a great family weekend, many thanks again to you both.

Wanted to thank you again for your wonderful hospitality and companionship. We arrived safely in Arizona on Tuesday but wished we could have spent more time on Skye. Thank you both again.

We felt incredibly lucky that our walking tour company selected Eabost House as our lodgings for three nights on Skye. My husband and I have stayed at many B&B in the US where we live. And, after leaving Skye and our tour, we stayed at a very carefully selected, far more costly B&B in Edinburgh. NONE has even come close to the welcome we received at Eabost House from Lyn and Brian, our very warm, gracious hosts.
On thanking them both for the exceptional care we received, we learned their philosophy that people on vacation should be 'treated specially and spoiled' and that was exactly what they did.
Staying with them had the quality of being with supportive family. When we'd return at days' end with boots that were dripping from our group walks, they'd go out of their way to get them dry for the next day, a service not provided by the nearby hotel where our other group members stayed. Lyn, who enjoys cooking, makes wonderful breakfasts including superb mushrooms using with no oil at all. And Brian was ever ready to serve as our enthusiastic chauffeur when we needed ferrying to the hotel for group activities.

It was a bold move of Brian's and Lyn's to move from Warwick to 'live the dream' in Skye. We are glad they did: they made us very welcome indeed and our room had lots of space and facilities, and it was a pleasure to come back to a good dinner as the daylight began to fade out. Delightful country to explore again. The view across Loch Bracadale from the house is lovely - and stunningly vivid when the late sun comes out after rain! We chose Eabost House 'blind' from the Web, since it fitted where we wanted to be to explore the north of the island (with Portree relatively close using the B road) and because of what others had written in the guestbook. We stayed an extra night, which sums it all up really. Highly recommended!

Just a little mail to thank you for your hospitality for our short stay in the Isle of Skye. We hope to come back a next time in your charming bungalow with a permanent panoramic view on the mountains .
Expecting to see you in France in our accomodation during your holidays.

I should declare an interest before I go any further - I have known owner Lyn for years.
Nevertheless, my brief stay here, in the heart of Skye's stunning scenery, was truly enjoyable.
Good food, good conversation - a real home from home. Couldn't recommend it more if you want to get away from it all and relax.
Thanks again!
03-Jul-2003 - The Coomers
The view from the Breakfast Room of this delightful home is really something special. Looking out to sea, there are islands to the left and the right - all of which Lyn and Brian can name - and between them is nothing but a view straight in to the North Atlantic - next landfall N America!
You will be made most welcome by Lyn and Brian, and nothing will be too much trouble for them to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
In the area, Portree is a small town well worth a visit, and the drive round the north of Skye afterwards makes an enjoyable day out. You may however prefer to walk....(See Lyn and Brian for details!!)
No doubt there are other excellent B & Bs on Skye, but they will have to go some to beat Eabost House! We`ll be back!
21-Apr-2003 - Donogh & Andrina
Just a wee note to thank you for your fantastic hospitality over the Easter weekend. We had originally set out on the Friday morning looking for a complete break from work and a chance to explore one of Scotland's islands that promised so much in terms of views and sunsets. It not only lived up to its promise it far exceeded our expectations, but in more ways than we hoped for. We accidentally stumbled across your 'golden retreat' when we were following our instincts to a view that captured our imaginations, we had been travelling for approx 7 hours when we decided to turn left down a wee dirt track that seemed like it would lead to nowhere but we felt had to explore anyway. As the track seemed to come to an end and we considered turning back we saw the sign pointing to this lovely white bungalow in the middle of a field with a permanent panoramic view of the stunning Cullins, the sea and over to the 2 table top mountains. So you can imagine our delight when we were welcomed as guests to your home, and what made us feel extra special was the refreshing welcome drink offered to us as we were given a prime seat in the garden to simply look at the views and listen to the sound of silence as we quickly escaped from the hassles of our modern and hectic world. We are already planning to come back and would be delighted if you were around to have us.
